triangle.

if only they’d taught us
young, in school
the pythagorean theorem
for our bodies.
that calculated movements —
adding what serves us
taking away what no longer
does
can bring senses
of fulfillment.
that solutions come first
from looking within
before we ever
bring pen to paper
or shout the answer
aloud.
that shapes are the wave
the body rides.
that without these shapes,
we’re nothing
but an empty page.
